Hello friends and family! 

I'm so excited to announce that I will be traveling to Kenya with The Hope Venture! If you told me at the beginning of the year that I would be going on mission this summer, I would have thought there’s no way. I have always felt comfortable staying in Lincoln and building community here. But something the Lord has been reminding me of is His love for people all over the world! As I’ve gotten more involved with The Hope Venture, the more I’ve learned about the ways they are blessing people overseas, and the greater my desire becomes to be a part of that. So I want to take this time to invite you into being a part of this opportunity.


If you don’t already know, The Hope Venture is a local non-profit organization looking to bring hope and dignity to the most disadvantaged people in the world. They have a variety of health and education projects in India, Uganda, and Kenya. Everything they do overseas is directed by local leaders in order to create lasting change in those communities. I personally have known about The Hope Venture since I was a freshman in high school and would attend many of their fundraising events. But I only recently got involved in their “Run for Hope” Hype Team and UNL Hope Venture Club which then led me to this trip! (which I'm convinced was all a part of God’s plan!)

My team will leave on June 21st and return on July 5th. The Kenya trip is specifically reaching high school students who are being sponsored by The Hope Venture’s student sponsorship program and Nasha Ministries. The student sponsorship program provides resources for Kenyan students to receive secondary education and possibly a college education. My team and I will be counselors at Kenya camp where these students can come experience Jesus and be reminded of the hope we share in the gospel! We will also have the opportunity to explore the cities of Nairobi and Narok, get to know the locals, and visit some of The Hope Venture’s projects. One of our main goals is to support and encourage our partner, Nasha Ministries, as well as all the students we meet! The Hope Venture has already been able to make a lasting impact in multiple parts of Kenya, so I’m really looking forward to witnessing and continuing that impact!

I would be so grateful if you would pray for the following:

  • our hearts leading up to the trip / that we would be reminded of Hebrews 12

  • guidance, safety, and courage during the trip

  • that Christ would reveal himself to the people and students of Kenya!
